Valentine’s day is a little like marmite, you either love it or you hate it, but fear not we have some show stopper movies to get you in the mood for love. Whether you spend the day with your significant other or have the couch all to yourself there’s no better way to relax than curled up on your couch watching a movie.   

Be prepared for tears, laughter, prince charming and everything in between with some of our favourite rom-coms of all time. For all those hopeless romantics out there on Valentine’s day, if these don’t leave you all warm and fuzzy I don’t know what will. 

The Notebook

This romantic classic offers everything from rain-soaked kisses to moonlight dances. The undeniable chemistry between Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams tells a heart-warming story of two young adults that fall in love from very different backgrounds, making it almost impossible for them to be together. If you’re looking a real tear jerker, look no further.

This 90’s high school modern Shakespeare movie stars a blossoming romance between a young Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles. Their initial loathing of one another soon becomes the basis of a growing love that catches both of them off guard.

Save The Last Dance

This all dancing movie follows ballet dancer Sara (Julia Stiles) as she moves high schools and falls for a guy that is from an entirely different world to hers. Their shared love for dance helps guide them through the struggles of being in an interracial couple as their love for each other grows stronger. If you’re looking for a romantic dance drama this is the one for you.

Bridget Jones’s Diary

If you’re not a fan of the classic romance, then Bridget Jones’s Diary is a great light-hearted movie that offers laugh out loud comedy. Bridget’s very real everyday life as a single woman in her 30’s presents a captivating sense of honesty that is particularly relatable and grabbing. This is a must watch rom-com for every movie lover.
